How does Lime Networks always stay refreshing in IT?

Lime Networks has always been refreshing in IT, we are constantly changing with technology and bringing refreshing solutions to heated IT issues. To keep doing this we need to keep our knowledge refreshing too. But how do we do this? One of the many ways is through a Capture the Flag event. Read in this blog how we keep our knowledge up-to-date!

DutchMSP: together we are stronger than alone

About eight years ago we started to organise ‘Sandboxchallengesfor the staff. This year we decidedto launch the concept to be launched externally as well. Together with the peer group which we are part of, DutchMSPwe have launched a big event where everyone's knowledge is put to the test!

DutchMSP is a peer group of a number of IT service providers in the Netherlands who share their knowledge to find the best solutions. And yes, Lime Networks is also part of this! We have meetings with other companies in the group a couple of times a year to share the best tools and insights with each other. There are also workshops, events and challenges organised, nice examples are the 'Sandbox challenges and Capture the Flag events". These challenges are the way to get involved with IT issues in a fun, informative way.

A fun way to keep knowledge up-to-date

At the Sandbox challenges small environments are opened up that all contain realistic scenarios represent. A 'sandboxis a kind of virtual test environment where new programmes are often experimented with.programmes. Anything can happen in this environment or happend are - – vfrom a hacker trying to get into an office 365 account to someone who has lost their password or a server that has a so-called BSoD (Blue Screen of Death). This is a fun way of testing the knowledge of our IT professionals in a fun way.

To make it all To make it all nice and competitive between each other, there will also be 'Capture the Flagevents are held. During the 'Sandbox challengesinformation is retrieved by the IT experts so-called 'Flags’. And of course the one who gets the most Flags has collected at the end! The whole purpose of these events and challenges is to teach our IT staff new things in a fun and informative way and to broaden their knowledge even further. This way Lime Networks always stays refreshing in IT.

Flags as a Christmas present

Before the end of last year we have events a little differently than usual. Together with all the IT specialists from the DutchMSP group challenged to one big Capture the Flag event. The event lasted from 1 to 14 decemeber and was a great success.. This is the ultimate test of IT knowledge and it is fun too! By this kind of events our theory-heavy job is combined with real experiences in the field.
