5 tips for a great workplace

How nice would it be if everyone in the company could just keep on working all day - whenever or wherever they wanted? That's part of workplace management. Today, we're focusing on creating such a great workplace and thus giving you a glimpse of what workplace management is all about.

#1: Ensure a good sitting position

Make it easy for yourself to adopt a good sitting position by getting a good chair. There is no one right chair for everyone; it is a personal preference. In any case, make sure you can sit on it for a long time without complaints and that it is adjustable to your wishes.

If you have a good chair, the next step is the position itself. Sit up straight - you have probably heard this before, but really pay attention to this to avoid back problems. Sit relaxed and not forced. Can you put your arms on the desk without hanging? Then you are sitting well. To make yourself even more comfortable, it is important to turn your eyes away from the screen every 15 minutes. This keeps you fresh. Get up every 45 minutes to do something, such as get a cup of tea or wash your plate. This is better for your concentration and for your body.

#2: Work on two screens

We see it more and more often, people who work on two screens. We wouldn't be able to do without it any more! It increases productivity because you can switch faster. People often work with input and output: on one screen the input (document, folder or website) and on the other screen the output (presentation, report or e-mail). Then two screens are very handy! You can then easily navigate through your programmes using the Windows key and the arrow keys. So you can move from one screen to another. A docking station allows you to connect your laptop with a single cable to your workstation with two screens, a good keyboard and a fine mouse. Don't use the laptop screen so your eyes can rest on the two larger screens.

#3: Invest in a good business laptop for your employees

More and more employers choose to allow their employees to work partly from home. A good laptop is essential for this. This allows employees to work at home or on the road just as well as at the office. Unfortunately, cheap laptops are picked too often. Think of it as an investment that will last 3 to 5 years. A slow laptop reduces productivity. A study among British employees shows that they 'waste' an average of 40 minutes a day because of slow technology. Translate that into an hourly rate, not to mention the frustration among your employees... so spend that extra €100 or €200 so they are productive and happy. #4: Secure your workplace

There it is again, security. We can't say it enough: IT and security go hand in hand. A fully up-to-date PC or laptop is less likely to get you into trouble. #5: Provide good support

IT is still a people business, and the workplace and security are no exception. When you can call someone and get immediate assistance, you ensure continuity and safety in your business. We know exactly what to do because of good documentation and will help you expertly and with a smile. If necessary, we look over your shoulder. Perhaps you have an IT person in house, but what if that IT person is not available? Perhaps he/she is on holiday, off work for a day, busy with an urgent job or on an appointment. We believe in long-term relationships but not in long-term contracts. At Lime Networks all contracts, including Workplace Management, can be cancelled per month.
